Echoes of Eternity

The Forgotten Godess

Nuclear Blast

The Los Angeles based band Echoes Of Eternity are quite probably the first American act to really embrace the spirit of the Metal underground in terms of a female fronted band. Europe has had the upper hand on this phenomenon for many years now but with the arrival of mainstreamers Evanescence on the scene here in the states the masses are starting to take notice. However the more commercialized success of the aforementioned Evanescence is very lacking when it comes to the true Metal experience. Enter Echoes Of Eternity guitarist and founding member Brandon Patton whose ultra aggressive formula of combining traditional Metal riffing with the angelic like voice of vocalist Francine Boucher has made Echoes Of Eternity one of the most watched bands of 2007.

Meaty hooks and wispy vocals are what the bands debut release The Forgotten Goddess is all about and the production stands out as a very crisp and clean achievement. However,  while this initial installment definitely spells triumph for the band in many ways it comes across at times as less than passionate and adapts an attitude more or less of just going through the motions. Subsequent releases I’m sure will likely tell whether or not Echoes Of Eternity have what it takes to cut it in the long term. That being said The Forgotten Goddess is a very strong first attempt and will no doubt garner massive praise from the underground realms.

If given proper attention Echoes Of Eternity will surely be on the tongues of fans and critics alike in the coming months. A word to all those who judge a band based on the first couple of tracks,  as the album progresses the songs seem to become more focused and fluid as if settling into  a nicely paced run; give it your full and undivided attention and I’m sure you will find  a nice addition to your collection.. Stand out selections found here include the first single and ensuing video “Voices In A Dream”, “Garden Of The Gods”, “Burning With Life” and “Lost Beneath A Silent Sky”.
