Kataklysm – In The Arms Of Success

Interview By: David Priest © 2007 On Track Magazine.com

Canadian Death Metal masters Kataklysm are making heavy strides into the new frontier of today’s modern Metal landscape. With the release of their latest CD In The Arms Of Devastation the band have opened doors that they had only dreamed possible and expanded their growing fan base exponentially. The many years of dedication and staying true to their convictions has definitely paid off and the future is now more optimistic than ever before. In anticipation of their forthcoming tour with symphonic Black Metal leaders Dimmu Borgir I managed to catch up with frontman Maurizio Iacono during one of the bands warm up tours at a crappy hole in the wall venue in Victorville California to discuss why the band are forced to play such dives in light of the amount of success that they are currently experiencing and what expectations they have for the forthcoming tour which will also include DevilDriver and Unearth. We also discussed their new mascot the “Heart Beast” and the fascination it has brought from fans around the globe as well as his take on the scene in general with what he likes to call the myspace generation. All in all a very decent and informative interview.    Click Below To listen to the conversation.
