Dimmu Borgir - Doing The Devils Bidding

Interview By: David Priest © 2007 On Track Magazine.com

Without a doubt Norwegian symphonic Black Metal act Dimmu Borgir are the most promising band in their particular area of expertise. The band held a much coveted place on the 2005 edition of Ozzfest and garnered critical acclaim for their 2004 release Death Cult Armageddon. Now with their latest effort In Sorte DiaboIi they are well on their way to being the next big movement within the genre. The new CD represents the next exciting chapter for this controversial band of gifted musicians and marks their first ever concept album taking the band to a heightened level of artistic expression. In Sorte DiaboIi is an album that unquestionably shows their genuine capacity for evolving. I caught up to the band during their stop in Las Vegas Nevada and sat down with guitarist Galder to discuss their return to the road as headliners post Ozzfest as well as the impact that their new CD is at present making across the board. In addition I addressed the continued sell out criticisms and their unrelenting assault on Christianity and organized religion as a limited topic of discussion that has more or less become old hat to a number of fans and critics alike. In general I think I posed some fairly intelligent questions and believe Galder managed to answer them with acceptable satisfaction. See if you don’t agree. Cick Below To listen to the conversation.
