Gotthaed Domino Effect Nuclear Blast Veteran hard rockers Gotthard have returned with their latest sonic
masterpiece Dominio Effect making it
their twelfth studio release to date. If these guys had been around during the
80’s heyday they would definitely be one of the biggest bands in history today.
Their uncompromising strategy to bare bones rock has defined their sound from
inception allowing them to be one of the most respected artists in the current
underground Metal movement. While there is just a ridiculous amount of various
Metal stylings being represented today the truth is that good old commercial
rock has an eternal lifespan and will always be welcome no matter what the
current trend might be. Domino Effect contains 19 tracks of pure rock
glory. Much in the vein of bands like Foreigner, Night Ranger, Whitesnake or the Scorpions among others, Gotthard are extremely accomplished songwriters and
this latest installment proves that they are worthy of any and all praise that
is offered their way. Vocalist Steve Lee is a powerhouse singer with an
absolutely incredible range, a rare find in today’s Metal market when so many
artists opt for the grind/death/hardcore vocals over anything with tone and
melody. Stand out cuts this time around
include “Bad To The Bone”, “Domino Effect”, “Master Of
Illusion”, “Now” and “The Cruiser (Judgement Day)”.
As an added bonus there is also a video for the song ”Anytime Anywhere”
included in the enhanced portion of the CD. Domino Effect was produced
superbly by guitarist Leo Leoni and Ronald Prent. I can only hope that these guys will bring their
music stateside so we can all check out the live aspect. -Priest |
