DevilDriver - A Few Kind Words

Interview By: David Priest © 2007 On Track Magazine.com

Santa Barbara Metal titans DevilDriver have steadily been making their way as leaders in the modern metal arena. Led by former Coal Chamber vocalist Dez Fafara DevilDriver are by no means to be confused with the gothic tinge that Coal Chamber identified with but instead are a brutal force of aggression that go toe to toe with the heaviest bands on the planet today. In support of their third full length release the guys recently wrapped up a successful North American Tour alongside labelmates Killswitch Engage and industry giant Lamb of God. I was privelaged to score some quality sit down time with Dez prior to their performance at the Long Beach Arena in sunny Southern California. Among the topic discussed were Dez's view of their latest masterpiece The Last Kind Words, the criticisms of his past work and the bands place amid the current scheme of Metal visionaries. Not surprising his answers during our chat were blatently honest and off the cuff.
