Soilwork - Sworn To Be A Great Band Interview By: David Priest Photos By: Becky Hoyle © 2007 On Track Magazine.com By far one of the biggest bands in all of Sweden is the aggressive Metal force
known as Soilwork. For quite a few years now the band have steadily built a reputation that has given them great
repoire with the Modern Metal world. Combining all the elements that make a great Metal album, the guys have truly struck
gold with their latest work of genius Sworn To A Great Divide. Melodic, yet painstakingly fierce the band have the
ability to hold an audience at bay with relatively little or no effort at all. they are natural born leaders (no pun
intended) in the Metal realms. Minus the departure of their original guitarist Peter Wichers in December of 2005 the band
have remained a driving factor in the evolution of the Metal genre. I recently caught up with drummer Dirk Verbeuren to
discuss with him the latest developments in the bands busy career as well as the various other projects that he is involved
with (Scarve/One Way Mirror). The following inside look came at the tail end of Soilwork's successful North
American tour alongside fellow openers DevilDriver and headliners Killswitch Engage and Lamb Of God. The
band are expected to return to the states come March for a much anticipated headlining tour.
