Axel Rudi Pell - Tales Of Intrigue!
Interview By: David Priest © 2008 On Track Magazine.com Career musicians are extremely rare in today’s cutthroat
music business and even rarer is an artist who after being in the game for
nearly two decades has yet to completely conquer the world. I recently had the
tremendous pleasure of speaking with veteran German axeman Axel Rudi Pell whose trademark playing has become something of a
cult phenomenon among the Metal elite. In regard to his latest CD offering Tales of the Crown; an album that marks his 17th release in his extensive
19 year career we talked about why his music has yet to be fully realized by
many in the world especially his popularity in the U.S. and how he’s managed to
never play one show on American soil; whether or not that will change in the
coming year remains to be seen. However, with the rise of popularity in power
metal once again anything is popular. His take on lyrics vs. music, the
mystique of his style and a little shit talking about Whitesnake frontman David
Coverdale are all covered. What a great interview! |
