In the wake of the current Thrash revival taking place amid the old-school legends such as Testament, Exodus and Death Angel it is not surprising that we would be introduced to some much needed new blood. Enter Pennsylvania based Thrashers Mantic Ritual, if you are looking to recapture the glory days of Thrash, think Kill ‘Em All era Metallica crossed with Anthrax’s State of Euphoria, then you need look no further. Mantic Ritual have delivered one of the strongest and most promising releases the thrash community has witnessed in this recent resurgence. Speaking with guitarist Jeff Potts in regard to this astonishing debut, I discovered that while these guys definitely tip their hand to the nostalgic side of Thrash Metal, they do maintain their own identity and as remarkable as this initial offering is we can expect their sound to grow and mature as they are influenced by other music as well. In addition we discussed the bands move to L.A. and back after landing their deal with Nuclear Blast, recording in Germany and their current tour with German Thrash legends Destruction. Take a listen!
