After a fourteen year absence from the playing field, legendary German Metal band Accept have decided to return to the forefront of the scene with a new singer and what may in fact be their most prolific album to date. As it happens, there is currently a resurgence of interest in traditional Heavy Metal and while some from the golden era of the genre have opted to hang it up, these guys feel that their best years are still ahead of them. I recently was privileged to have a sit down phone chat with guitarist extraordinaire Wolf Hoffman to discuss their resurrection and exactly how they fair among today’s prominent Metal movement. Also included in the topics of discussion was the ability of their new vocalist Mark Tornillo to fill the shoes of departed frontman and founder Udo Dirkschneider as well as the band’s most recent release Blood of the Nations which marks the highest charting album of their career.
