Whitesnake

Forever

Frontiers

David Coverdale and company, better known as Whitesnake have been actively involved within the music world since 1978. With a history that sees them evolve from a blues rock outfit to the hard rocking group they have been most noted for; stemming from their transition in the mid 80's they have continuously proved their worth by shelling out some of the best rock gems money can by. Now, here in 2011 the band have returned with what is sure to be yet another high point in their well rounded career.

The aptly titled Forevermore sends a clear cut message that Mr. Coverdale is in this game till the end and age means very little to him in the grand scope of a musicians legacy. With this latest installment of the bands impressive catalog (their 11th studio effort in all) they maintain their hard rocking prowess that made them a multi-platinum success in the 80's while drawing on the early bluesy stylings of their youth. In spite of the tip of the hand to their early years it is interesting to see the maturity that has ensued as many of the songs come across as more long term relationship than one night stand.

Whitesnake have a tried and true formula and under Coverdale's guidance new guitarists Doug Aldrich (Dio) and Reb Beach (Winger) who joined the bands ranks in 2002 have mastered the wicked brew that still makes Whitesnakea band not to be taken lightly. Just check out the ultra bluesified rocker "Whipping Boy Blues" which is so good it demands an alternate mix dubbed the "Swamp Mix" or the poignant "Love Will Set You Free" which also serves as the first single and video from the album. Other treasures include the straightforward blues rock contender "Steal Your Heart Away", the in your face "Love Will Treat Me Right" and what Whitesnake album would be complete without that all defining rock ballad as is found in the heartfelt "Easier Said Than Done". This is classicWhitesnakein all its glory and Forevermore definitely does not disappoint.
