Kamelot

One of the most incredibly prolific bands to emerge onto the Metal scene over the last decade is without a doubt the melodic masterpiece known as Kamelot. Having had a tremendous impact on me both artistically and emotionally I was truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to sit down in a face to face conversation with guitarist/founder Thomas Youngblood during their recent stop in Hollywood CA to discuss all the intricacies currently at work in the land of Kamelot. This was a bitter sweet occurrence as I was expected to address the recent departure of the bands longtime frontman Roy Khan from the band’s ranks as well as their plight to seek a suitable replacement. All in all I’m happy to report that the disposition of Mr. Youngblood seemed to be one of hope and promise for the future of the band and it appears that there will be very good things still to come from the Kamelot camp. While this latest roadblock has surely taken its toll on the remaining members of the band we also inquired as to what the fans response has been and what steps the guys are taking to move forward. If the old saying is true that whatever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger, then Kamelot are poised to make a triumphant return from this tragedy and we can all count on their still yet to come endeavors to be equally majestic works of art able to hold their own against anything the band have released thus far.
