Timo Tolkki - Brokeness and Healing (The Lost Interview)!
Interview By: David Priest © 2009, 2011 On Track Magazine.com In October of 2009 I was given the extreme pleasure of once again interviewing one of my
favorite musicians, friends and genuine humanitarians who are alive and well in the music industry. In what proved to be yet another very
in depth, personally revealing and rather lengthy conversation Timo and I discussed many of the trials and tribulations that revolved
around both of our lives, his then new book (Loneliness of a Thousand Years) which had to date not been released but which I had the
privilege of reading as well as what now is the defunct Revolution Renaissance project. Unfortunately, as things in this world so
often go wrong in the most unforeseen ways my computer which I had stored the audio files on crashed and the interview was lost; or so I
thought. Not having the fiances to hire the proper tech to see if anything was salvageable, I counted the piece as lost. After a few
computer savvy friends attempted to retrieve my information and failed I more or less gave up on attempting to fix the problem. In haste
when I thought everything was going to work out and the piece would be able to be published I contacted Timo and let him know what had
happened however, when I was again received word that we had run into a wall and the recovery failed I again gave up any hope of this
interview seeing the light of day. After many, many months I was introduced to a gentleman who is an absolute genius when it comes to
computers and actually fixes them for the U.S. Army. Approx. one month ago I was actually able to get into my old computer and salvage
the following interview. I debated on whether to go ahead with this piece after so much time has gone by and so many changes have come
about but, in my heart and mind I truly feel that there are enough die-hard fans out there who would love to hear what transpired on this
rare occasion. What lies within is the reflection of a man at a given point in time, ambitious, emotional, optimistic and very often broken. While he has manged to overcome many of his demons during the last year and a half, the revelation contained herein is that of a truly transparent individual whose compassion for his fans and the whole of humanity remains on going and definitely worthy of being shared with the world. I hope that you who take the time to listen to this interview in it's entirety (Over 2 hours in 3 parts) feel in some way that he has touched your life as he has touched mine.
