The much-anticipated return of The
Family Values Tour, co-headlined by Korn and Evanescence,
will commence on July 20 in On April 19 a star-studded
"Halloween in Spring Costume Ball" at the infamous The 2006 Family Values Tour
catapulted the festival back into the spotlight of summer tours with over
400,000 tickets sold. Through their partnership with Live Nation, the 2006's
The Family Values Tour featured $9.99 lawn tickets and value-priced seating at
every outdoor amphitheatre stop. Korn also announced today that top rock
drummer Joey Jordison from Slipknot will be
their special guest drummer for this summer's tour as well as for their
European festival shows in June and July. Jonathan Davis said, "Joey is the sh*t!! We can't wait to rock
onstage with him this summer!" Joey Jordison
said, "I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to perform with bands that
have influenced me as a musician over the years. When I first heard Korn they blew me away and I've been a fan ever
since. I'm looking forward to playing drums with these guys for the next five
months!" Korn is currently in the studio
recording their second album for their ground-breaking deal with Virgin
Records, currently set for release on July 24. Evanescence just released their third single,
"Sweet Sacrifice", from the multi-platinum The Open Door, just
in time for this summer's festival. Last week the new video received over 1
million votes on MTV's Newcomers Nuerosonic
and Droid have been added to round out the bill to eight bands with more
surprises to come including news of special activities for this year's village. Korn, along with management company The
Firm, created The Family Values Tour in 1998 with a bill headlined by Korn and performances from Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit and Orgy. 1999's line-up featured
headliners Limp Bizkit, along with Filter,
The Crystal Method, Primus, Staind,
Mobb Deep, Ja Rule, and Method Man & Redman.
Korn also made surprise appearances at
a few dates. Beyond the live touring aspect, the debut outing of The Family
Values Tour spawned a gold-certified live album and platinum-certified
companion home video. This was followed in spring 2000 with the second live
disc and long-form home video. The 2001 trek featured Stone Temple Pilots,
