Guitarist Clint Lowery has rejoined Sevendust. Lowery's
return to the band follows the apparent departure of Sonny Mayo (ex-Amen,
Snot), who played on Sevendust’s
last two albums — 2005's Next and
2007's Alpha. Clint spent much of 2007 as the touring guitarist for Korn. He has
also just completed work on the second album from Dark New Day, the band which also features in its ranks Troy McLawhorn (guitar; Evanescence,
ex-Double Drive), Clint's brother
Corey Lowery (bass; ex-Stereomud,
Stuck Mojo)
Brett Hestla (vocals; ex-Creed, Virgos Merlot)
and Will Hunt (drums; Evanescence,
ex-Skrape,
Tommy Lee). Sevendust has announced the details of its spring tour, which
kicked off on April 9 in Sevendust recently pulled out of its participation in this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, indicating in a statement that
it canceled its involvement "due to changes in (the group's) touring
schedule." The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour,
featuring headliners Disturbed and Slipknot, is scheduled to kick off on
July 9 in Sevendust will release its new album, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow",
on April 1. The first single is called "Prodigal Son", while the disc
features guest appearances from Chris Daughtry and
members of Alter Bridge. |
