Air Supply Still A Breath of Fresh Air! Posted By: David Priest, Editor In Chief Friday October 24th, 2002
For decades now pop and rock ballads have fueled the
emotions of fans around the world and given them an invitation to identify with
their own feelings of love and loss in both one on one relationship’s and
outward social and political situations. In addition they have served as a
catalyst in guaranteeing certain artists the ability to become and maintain
their careers as extremely popular icons in the music industry. This phenomenon in many ways can be attributed to the
embracing of such easier on the ears songs that are consistently tapped by
adult contemporary radio formats, thus the radio friendly hit that record
labels and many artists strive to create on their albums specifically for this
reason. Lets face it most of us are
suckers for a good heartfelt ballad. While bands such as Journey and However, one particular group that have predominantly
built their entire career on nothing but ballads is the Australian pop duo Air Supply who have garnered more than
20 top ten radio singles throughout the last three decades and continue to
write and perform annually. It may surprise some to know that many the die hard
rocker have in fact been inspired at one time or another by such soft rock
superstars as Neil Diamond or Barry Manalow and Air Supply are no exception either. Generally guys will not admit
to this until their alone with their girls but even the hardest bad boy has a
soft side. Air Supply are currently
headlining venues across the U.S. and Mexico on their fall tour and fans can
expect to hear song favorites such as “All Out of Love”, “Every Woman in the
World”, Lost in Love”, “Making Love Out of Nothing at All”, and “Here I Am”, as
well as a couple of new songs thrown in for good measure. Here are the
