American melodic metallers KAMELOT will embark on a full headlining North American tour in August/September. Support on the trek will come from ALESTORM, BLACKGUARD and THE AGONIST.
Due to continuing medical and personal issues, KAMELOT vocalist Roy Khan will not be able to finish the remaining touring in support of the band's latest album, "Poetry For The Poisoned". He states, "I am here in Norway still recovering from what seems to have been a severe burnout syndrome. I am getting better, but still under medical care. My priorities at the moment are my health and family. My future endeavors in KAMELOT and music in general are being evaluated. However, at this time my focus is on getting back on my feet and spending time with family and friends. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!"
With the news of Roy's continued absence, KAMELOT has announced that metal icon Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE) will be handling the lead vocal duties on all the upcoming shows.
Lione is eager to get on the road, stating, "I am excited and pleased to be part of the next KAMELOT tour. I always loved the sound of the band..and I think this will be a great experience for me, the band, and for all the fans of great music and KAMELOT. See you soon on tour and let's rock!!!"

U.K. based metal heroes DRAGONFORCE have announced that their long search for a new vocalist is finally over. After entries from thousands of hopefuls across the globe, the shredmasters supreme welcome 23-year-old Marc Hudson to the band to fill the boots left by ZP Theart, who parted ways with the band in March of last year.
"I'm really excited about being a part of the DRAGONFORCE family," says Marc. "It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!"
Born in Oxford England, Marc was picked from the thousands of applications via a number of impressive video auditions and live performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they’d found their man. Since the age of 16, Marc has been building his vocal skills gigging with bands in the U.K. underground scene, developing a powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske and Sebastian Bach.
Commented founding member and guitarist Herman Li: "After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the DRAGONFORCE sound that I am sure all the fans will love."
The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording in various studios in California, London and the South of France. The follow-up to 2008's hugely successful "Ultra Beatdown" album will be highly anticipated, with top 10 and top 20 chart positions all over the world and a Grammy nomination in the United States setting the precedent. With Marc brought into the fold, the band is enjoying an injection of enthusiasm and hunger that sees DRAGONFORCE prepared to return more focused and determined than ever before.
"Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material is shaping up," continues Herman. "We haven't felt this kind of energy in the band for a long time. We can't wait to unleash the next DRAGONFORCE album later this year."
The new album is expected to hit the shelves in September, with a full world tour to follow.

Seattle metallers NEVERMORE have tapped Dagna Barrera to play bass on the band's current "Power Of Metal" European tour with SYMPHONY X, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ , MERCENARY and THAUROROD.
Regular NEVERMORE bassist Jim Sheppard underwent surgery on February 16 to remove a benign brain tumor and is said to be on his way to a full recovery.
Dagna previously played bass in NEVERMORE singer Warrel Dane's solo project and is also a member of the Seattle-based progressive rock band ONE UNDONE.
Fan-filmed video footage of NEVERMORE's February 28, 2011 performance at l'Elysée Montmatre in Paris, France can be viewed below.
Sheppard in 2006 missed a number of NEVERMORE shows after undergoing a minor procedure for Crohn's Disease, a condition he's managed for nearly 20 years. Filling in for Sheppard was longtime friend James MacDonough (ex-MEGADETH, ICED EARTH).
"The Obsidian Conspiracy", the new album from NEVERMORE, sold around 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 134 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
